VEG WITH AN EDGE – VISIT VEG BOX FOR PLANT-BASED PLEASURES, SPECIALITY COFFEE, AND OLD TOWN IBIZA VIBES AT EXETER’S QUAY

It’s no coincidence that Veg Box is on Haven Road, Exeter Quay. Veg Box is haven-ly. The unique plant-based café opened in June 2020 amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, this charming and chilled spot is a favourite for locals and visitors. The team recently celebrated its fourth birthday with a vibe reminiscent of sunny Ibiza cafés.

Fresh tunes and fresh taste, every visit

Veg Box provides mouth-watering vegetarian and vegan dishes, ranging from hearty wraps and fluffy pancakes to indulgent pastries and cakes.

In partnership with Allpress Coffee, the café offers the ‘Good Brew’ alongside rotating guest coffee beans, ensuring every cup is as fresh as their music playlist.

The commitment to local and independent UK suppliers means that every bite supports the community.

Meet, Eat, Beats, Repeat.

Kelly, the owner and a DJ, infuses Veg Box with her love for music and Ibiza, creating an atmosphere where chill house beats complement the dining experience.

The cafe has a real community vibe; regulars make repeat visits, remote workers take a well-earned break, and visitors to Exeter swap meats for beets!

Veg Box has also held music events in the outdoor space in the past. Plans are underway to host more regular music nights and live performances by local bands, like Jonah Hitchens, right outside the café.

You’ll find Veg Box on Piazza Terracina, Haven Road.

It is a five-minute quayside stroll to Move and Bomba (located above Move), which hosts incredible DJs and live music artists from the world music genre.

The Corn Exchange – the largest venue in Exeter city centre – is a ten-minute walk away, located on Market Street. A fifteen to twenty-minute stroll will get you to the iconic Exeter Phoenix and legendary Cavern.

Why Visit Veg Box?

Beyond the mouth-watering menu, relaxing tunes and soul-soothing interior, Veg Box is a gateway to exploring Exeter’s Quay.

The café’s accessible location makes it a perfect spot to enjoy a day by the water, surrounded by the vibrant activities of the Quay, such as Saddles and Paddles, Clip n Climb, and AS Watersports.

After a relaxing lunch, Kelly urges visitors to explore independent shops, such as Crafty Locals and Winter Wood. They can also enjoy live music at Topsham Brewery, a one-minute walk from the cafe.
