Press Release:
The Upper Hand are thrilled to announce the release of their New Debut single, “Mistakes”.
It is available on all major streaming platforms starting 22nd November.
Recorded by R&K Systems, it was mixed and mastered by Lawrence Chaplin.
THE SONG
“Mistakes” is an Indie Rock track that showcases the band’s powerful energy and unique sound. Mistakes was the second original song the band created pulling together each member’s influences to create a song that truly encapsulates their style. Aaron wrote the lyrics whilst on holiday a few years ago as an homage to the phrase ‘carpe noctem,’ Latin for ‘seize the night,’; the name of the boat he saw whilst cruising the canals of Amsterdam. Mistakes will be ‘The Upper Hands’ First ever studio release, recorded with R&K Systems and Mixed and mastered by Lawrence Chaplin.
“For me I see “Mistakes” as a song about freedom, impulse and embracing one’s inner desire to dice with all the things we shouldn’t just because we can. I wanted to write a song that encapsulates a newly formed group of young lads that feel ready to break out into the musical world together and embrace all the chaotic shenanigans that we’ll be sure to encounter, because that’s what we’re into!”
-Aaron Samuel The lead singer
