Well priced in an easy to get to area. The rooms are well insulated and the gear doesn't sound like it's going to pop as soon as you turn it on! Great place for rehearsals

How long has your business been operating in Exeter?

Since the 1st of April, 2017.

How does your business engage with the local music scene?

Tazma is an active part of the Exeter music scene. We speak with bands every day and share their highs and lows. We support bands by turning up to their gigs and producing high-quality live session recordings for original artists on our YouTube channel. Our live sessions provide valuable media content that bands can use to help get gigs.

Do you collaborate with local musicians or music events? If so, how?

Tazma collaborates with both local musicians and events. Over the last year, Tazma has produced 17 live session recordings for local original artists. The sessions are multitrack recorded and filmed in 4K and then promoted through our YouTube channel. These sessions are open to anyone, regardless of background or genre, and have proven to be a valuable resource for enabling original artists to secure their first or additional gigs.

What can music fans visiting Exeter expect when they visit your business?

We welcome anyone who wants to visit our premises, whether to rehearse, shop at the Hussar Record Shop, or just for a look around. If you’re visiting for the first time, you’ll be greeted by one of our full-time staff, shown the studios, equipment, and amenities, and have all your questions answered.

Why do you think it’s important to support local and independent businesses like yours in conjunction with music events?

Creating an amazing live show requires hours of practice for both the individual and the band as a whole. As active musicians ourselves, we know that making practice as easy and comfortable as possible enables bands to get the most from their music. By supporting local businesses like ours, you are supporting the bands and the events they are bringing their show to.

In your opinion, how does the music scene contribute to the community and culture of Exeter?

Exeter’s music scene has contributed to the local community in many ways. Firstly, there are a wide variety of music venues and events hosted in Exeter, from one of Exeter’s many pubs and clubs to annual events such as the Respect Festival. These help the local economy while encouraging inclusivity and fostering new local talent, thereby strengthening community bonds.

Performing in a band can have multiple positive mental impacts, from the sense of community and friendship to the self-expression of creating and performing music.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with music fans who are planning to visit Exeter?
