Welcome to Portal Pizza. An independent pizza restaurant business in Exeter with two sites; we have a restaurant on Magdalen Road and a pizza van outside Topsham Brewery! We make all our own dough and use local ingredients for a truly banging pizza.

How long has your business been operating in Exeter?
We have been operating for nearly 4 years now!

How does your business engage with the local music scene?
On a personal level we love going to gigs as much as we can! Emily and me (Jack) are into punk rock + hardcore punk + indie so try to catch shows when we can. Especially at our favourite venue, The Cavern. We haven’t been a lot lately but a few local bands we love include Big Shipping, Silk Cuts, Soot Sprite and Pushbike.
Gigs we have booked in for the future include Uranium Club in Bristol, The Marked Men in London + Charli Xcx in London!
Do you collaborate with local musicians or music events? If so, how?
We would love to collaborate with local musicians and have considered having small performances in the restaurant! Maybe one day!
What can music fans visiting Exeter expect when they visit your business?
Great pizza, great beer.
Why do you think it’s important to support local and independent businesses like yours in conjunction with music events?
Exeter has some brilliant independent restaurants and venues. Combined they create opportunities for music fans local and visiting to have exciting cultural experiences in the city.
In your opinion, how does the music scene contribute to the community and culture of Exeter?
Exeter’s music scene is so so important. We’re lucky to have the venues that we do so they should be celebrated!
Is there anything else you’d like to share with music fans who are planning to visit Exeter?
Exeter is a beautiful city with loads to do before a gig! Support Indy’s and scope out the best places to eat and drink!

I’d recommend the Mercure or using Airbnb.
