It’s our pleasure to introduce you to the new single from Abz Winter.
It’s called Are You Good? – and it’s about seeing your ex for the first time with a new partner – and all the emotions that brings!
With her fresh, new artistic vision, Abz is making her mark with a banging new tune! ‘Are You Good?’
She has seamlessly evolved from pop to a mixture of pop/rock/punk whilst maintaining her signature powerhouse vocals. With her latest release, Abz says, “I wanted to add to my previous style, breathe new life into it; these are genres I am very much in love with musically and adding these styles into my music has been so much fun, empowering, and a real game changer.
‘Are You Good?’ celebrates youthful chaos, using thundering crescendos and a big anthemic chorus; the lyrics, emotionally vulnerable, from her heart, Abz says, “You know when you see your ex with someone new for the first time, you get that horrible feeling deep down in your gut like someone has just punched you, well I got that twice over when I saw his new girl on Insta, the total opposite to me ‘blonde hair blue eyes’ – ‘a Cara Delevingne’ even though he swore I was everything he was looking for in a girl”
Abz maintains her reckless commitment to both fun & catharsis in the lyrics whilst singing ‘Small brain, fit face, living at your mum’s place, immature wanna-be sports star’ Abz continues, “These words make me feel giddy and back in control of my emotions, I know I should have got over it years ago but… nah”.
Having consistently released singles this year is making Abz a force to be reckoned with, catching the eyes and ears of the likes of, Spotify’s Fresh Finds Team, Johnny Doom on Kerrang! Radio, Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio, The Unsigned Guide’s Spotlight, BBC Introducing, and very recently shortlisted for the AMEX Gold Unsigned, one of only six acts to perform at the event at Dome, Tufnell Park. Plus, we mustn’t forget to mention the other 250-plus radio stations that have played Abz’s music and the 5000-plus playlist ads. Abz has now introduced a hugely talented band for live performances, an act you will be talking about for years.
Fun facts:
Abz was a National Level Synchronised Swimmer and even trialled for the GB team.
Abz was on ITV’s Walk the Line, and the judges loved her vocals, especially Alesha Dixon, who commented, “For me, I just want to say that was just a lovely surprise; I wasn’t expecting that voice to come from you” – “I love your vocals, very contemporary, very modern, yeh there is something about you that just feels winning.”

Musical Influences:
I have so many influences but particularly love pop, punk, and rock, but I listen to all genres such as musicals, grime, and pop; my favourite artists include the likes of Gayle, Avril Lavigne, Maggie Lindermann, Mae Muller, Olivia O’Brien, and Victoria Anthony, and going back some time I loved Queen – one of my Dad’s favourite bands.
