Located in the city centre of Exeter, The Music Depot is a fantastic addition to the local music scene. Founded in December 2023 by a dedicated team formerly of Musicroom on Sidwell Street, it offers a haven for musicians and music lovers alike.
Specialising in pianos, acoustic guitars, brass and woodwind instruments, and a vast collection of vinyl, The Music Depot is living up to its mission of enhancing Exeter’s already vibrant, musical vibrancy.
A fresh note in Exeter's music scene
Situated at 99-101 Fore Street, the shop has quickly become a valued asset to the Fore Street community. Managed by Simon Tremlett, with Rupert handling pianos and marketing, MD provides a full musical experience.
Acoustic and digital pianos, an eclectic ensemble of various other instruments, guitar repairs and a rich selection of sheet music, each shop corner reflects a passion for music nurtured by a team with years of experience in music retail.

Quick fire Q’s:
Q: What music do you play in your establishment/if you can’t, what would you play?
A: We can play almost any music at our establishment within reason but often Barbra Streisand is the one artist I get told to stop playing! ☹ If I could I would also try and get away with playing the complete works of Prince instore.
Q: What song gets you going for the day ahead?
A: Bert Kaempfert – A Swingin’ Safari.
Q: Describe your business in three words.
A: Passionate, knowledgeable, community.
Q: If your business was a song, what would it be?
A: Simply because we set up a newly established music shop after Musicroom closed down, the most appropriate song for us would be Thin Lizzy’s The Boys Are Back In Town.
